I am
currently a Writer and Director of small independent films. Up until May 1998, I was a
Business Manager with Fidelity Investments, which I left to pursue an opportunity for
greater self-expression in film. My life has been an adventure, always enhanced by my
greatest gift, my own genetic make-up. Whatever lofty goals one may embrace, the truth
remains, they will be more easily achieved if one is beautiful, intelligent and athletic.
This said, I hate to see the bounty I was given go to waste as I lead a delightfully
selfish existence, void of children. I greatly respect the choices parents make to give
life, but it is a choice I have no plans to make myself.
My life: I was
academically gifted from a very young age, devouring math and gleefully overtaking
problems determined impossible. In spite of my analytical ability, my creative side always
tugged at my heart. While Calculus seemed effortless and uninteresting, writing sonnets in
Latin or creating plays for live audiences were always pursuits worthy of attention. I was
fortunate to have a supportive family, who let me follow my interests, and by the end of
high school, in the face of scholarships and other academic honors, I had tired of being
taught. So I began to lead. At eighteen, I started running businesses of various
descriptions. Whether managing importers from South America and China to opening a spree
of Gap stores (in the late eighties when the Gap was taking over America), I earned my
living and saw the world by creating thriving businesses wherever I went. Eventually,
while in Executive Search in Boston, MA, I caught the eye of Fidelity Investments. There,
I was given the opportunity to explore my entrepreneurial spirit under the safe arm of the
worlds largest investment organization. After three years, my creative pursuits
still called, and I could no longer be satisfied keeping them as a hobby. Since leaving
Fidelity, I have done everything from model (with Ford Model management in Boston) to
Management Consulting (my own shingle), but filmmaking is an all-consuming pursuit. As I
complete my first film, taking it into distribution, and pursue my second, I am looking
for a less time consuming method of income. And this, has brought me to you. I hope you
will be the next part of my adventure. |
